Account Manager Cocoa Products - Amsterdam - Trading/Sales/Marketing (Amsterdam)
The Role
As an Account Manager, you are the first point of contact for our clients and responsible for all aspects of the customer relationship. This includes aftersales, ensuring timely payments, contract management, and staying informed about logistical challenges. This position is focused on building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships. Your goal: drive profitable sales and expand our network, particularly in Germany.
Main Responsibilities
- Develop and manage new and existing customer relationships.
- Identify and target new business opportunities.
- Build a strong sales pipeline through leads, cold calling, and market insights etc.
- Manage the full sales process—from prospecting to closing deals.
- Collaborate with internal teams on product alignment, approvals, and strategy.
- Advise senior management on global cocoa market strategy in collaboration with the Cocoa Products team.
- Monitor contracts, hedging, and FX.
- Represent ECOM at industry events to foster new opportunities.
- Ensure smooth aftersales, contract execution, and payment processes.
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years’ FMCG experience.
- Fluent in English and German.
- Passion for and knowledge of macroeconomics and financial markets.
- Goal-oriented, proactive, and solution-driven, with a strong sense of initiative.
- Strong communicator with excellent relationship management skills.
- Culturally aware and adaptable in a fast-paced, relatively unstructured environment.
- Able to work independently, make confident decisions, and thrive in a self-driven role, while also collaborating effectively within a team.
- Quick thinker who can switch gears and perform calculations under pressure, while leveraging quieter periods for market analysis.
